Pfälzer Stube is as important for the gorgeous Krone hotel as the hotel is for the town of Herxheim-Hayna. Centrally located, this is a traditional, family-run business. The space has ample charm, with diners comfortably seated at attractively set tables inside, or, in summer, out on the leafy terrace. On the menu: regional and seasonal food with Italian influences – in keeping with the chef's roots, although he also puts a distinctly modern spin on proceedings. Dishes such as "roasted Venetian calf's liver, tagliolini, Blutwurst, apple, shallot" can be selected à la carte or you can combine three or four courses to create your own set menu.
